Hand Therapy
Our certified hand therapist uses advanced techniques to restore range of motion, strength, and dexterity. In addition, we design custom dynamic and static braces (orthoses) to protect healing structures, improve function, and assist in recovery. When necessary, we work closely with orthopedic and plastic surgeons to provide seamless, coordinated care.
How will hand therapy benefit me?
One of the most significant roles of hand therapist is to prescribe and implement targeted stretches and exercises to relieve pain and improve mobility. Additional techniques, such as ice and heat therapies, ultrasound, or electrical stimulation, may also be used as part of your treatment plan to enhance the healing process. These will depend upon your diagnosis and focus on improving your range of motion, strength, and overall function so you can safely and comfortably perform your daily activities again. A large part of hand therapy is helping patients regain their function in day-to-day tasks and improving their quality of life.
